Learning and Working Together
The Joint Learning Program (JLP) held a national in-person all-staff meeting in Ottawa, January 23-26, 2018.
The meeting was opened by Kitigan Zibi Elder, Barbara Hill-Dumont, who shared a teaching about the sacred connection to the land for Indigenous Peoples and the importance of land recognition. Barbara then led the group through the Kairos’ Blanket Exercise. It was co-facilitated by her husband Larry Hill, and Michael Desautels, PSAC Human Rights Program Officer/Indigenous Rights.
Other important guests were JLP Steering Committee Co-Chairs Robyn Benson, National President, Public Service Alliance of Canada and Paule Labbé, Assistant Deputy Minister, Executive Management and Leadership Development, Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat who brought greetings and acknowledgements of the success of the JLP.
In keeping with the experiential learning approach, the staff participated in a series of discussions and activities to identify operational priorities and direction regarding program activities for the next three years. The JLP staff remain committed to offer the best possible experience for all those involved in the Program.
